The band competes in the preliminaries for a place in the Grand Final and beats 6 other British Bands along with many foreign bands with a fantastic score of 85.45 points to guarantee their place, which takes place tomorrow night.
July 7th 2000
The band plays for the parade prelude at the Calgary Stampede and wins first place for top band.
July 6th 2000
The band flies to Canada to take part in the World Showband Championships.

This site has today been awarded two web design awards.


The first is a 'Gold Medal for Excellent Design' from Harbeson & Associates Web Design and the second is an 'Excellent Site Aloha Award' from hawaiicity.com.
In an e-mail sent from hawaiicity.com it was stated: "All of us agreed that you truly do have an interesting web site with quality content and design. The Aloha Award is not an easy award to win. That is why this award is seen so infrequently. . . Congratulations and Aloha."

POPex Design/UKPro has started to offer a free e-mail alias service to members of the band. Any band member or band staff who would like an e-mail address person@hessledc.org.uk please e-mail us your details along with the name you would like before the @ sign and to which e-mail address you want us to point it to and we will sort it out asap. This service is free for the band and its staff only.

Now that we've all sobered up from Brenda and Simons' wedding the HessleDC site finally went live today after extensive testing and tweaking. If anyone has any articles to be published please contact us to get them online.

Major re-development of HessleDC site goes partially live for testing. New features include News Archive, Articles, Gallery & Links. The site has grown from 19 pages to over 100 pages virtually overnight.
A real-time chat area, internet search & web based email are scheduled to be incorporated in late spring.

The tickets have been purchased to allow the band to compete in Canada. In total there will be 35 in the party, although only 25 of these are playing members. We wish you guys all the best. Sorry we can't be there, but someone has to keep a heap of websites updated.
